At the Golden Summit, after a chase sequence down the mountain where Madeline seeks resolution rather than abandonment, she apologizes to Badeline. This moment of self-forgiveness allows the two to reconcile and vow to climb together. In Their Own Story

After navigating the lower slopes and confronting various manifestations of her fears in areas like the abandoned city and Celestial Resort, Madeline reaches the summit only to be thrown down by Badeline. She encounters Granny again, who advises her to seek resolution instead of abandonment. Madeline then searches for her shadow self, leading to a chase that ends with an apology. The two reconcile at the peak, vowing to continue their journey together. Following this reunion, they reach the summit and share a strawberry pie with Granny, Theo, and Oshiro. About a year later, Madeline returns to explore the mountain's core with Granny, but after Granny's death, she pursues a mysterious bird through space in the Farewell expansion, eventually waking up to speak with Theo on a video call.

To reach this location, players must complete the eight main chapters of the base game. The summit is accessed after defeating the final boss encounter with Badeline and resolving the narrative conflict. In terms of gameplay mechanics, reaching the end involves standard platforming skills: running, jumping, wall climbing, wall jumping, and mid-air dashing in one of eight directions. Collectibles such as crystal hearts unlock gates, while cassette tapes reveal 'B-side' levels that increase difficulty.
